StoreNotch is a Mac app that shows your Shopify store's sales, orders, goals and stock in the notch at the top of your screen, along with alerts when things happen. It runs on macOS 26 Tahoe or later.

To connect a store, you install the StoreNotch app on Shopify and approve the access it asks for. You need to be the store's owner, or have the owner's permission, to do that. You're responsible for who can use the Macs that have your store connected.

StoreNotch asks for read-only access to orders, products and inventory. It can't change anything in your store, and it never asks for customer names, emails, phone numbers or addresses.

Your store's numbers travel straight from Shopify to your Mac, where they're added up and shown. We don't keep copies of your orders, products or stock on our servers.

Our servers only keep what's needed to keep your store connected: your store's address, the access Shopify gives StoreNotch, and a random code that links your Mac to your stores, along with your Mac's name. Uninstalling StoreNotch from your store ends that access.

Your Shopify data belongs to you. We don't sell it, share it or use it for advertising.

StoreNotch costs $10 a year for each store you connect. Shopify charges it on your normal Shopify bill, under Shopify's billing terms. Subscriptions renew every year until you cancel.

To cancel, uninstall StoreNotch from your Shopify store. You won't be charged again, but payments already made aren't refunded unless the law requires it.

Demo stores are free and don't need a Shopify store. If the price ever changes, we'll tell you before your next renewal.

StoreNotch works its numbers out from your orders as they come in, in your store's time zone. They can differ slightly from Shopify's own reports, which may take time to catch up or count refunds differently. StoreNotch is a quick way to keep an eye on your store, not an accounting or tax record. For anything official, use Shopify's reports.

Please don't:

• connect a store you don't have permission to access;
• copy, resell or redistribute the app, or try to get around its billing;
• reverse engineer the app or our servers, except where the law allows it;
• use StoreNotch in a way that breaks the law or Shopify's terms, or overloads our servers or Shopify's.

We update StoreNotch from time to time to fix problems and add features, and some features may change or be retired. We may update these terms too. If a change is significant, we'll update the date at the top of this page and let you know through the app or this website. If you keep using StoreNotch after that, the new terms apply.

You can stop using StoreNotch at any time by uninstalling it from your store and deleting the Mac app. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken, if a subscription isn't paid, or if we stop offering StoreNotch. If we stop offering it, we'll give you reasonable notice first.

StoreNotch is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we can't promise it will always be error-free or available, or that alerts will always arrive. It depends on Shopify, Apple and your internet connection, which we don't control.

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost sales or decisions made from the numbers StoreNotch shows. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for StoreNotch in the 12 months before it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be waived.
